Campaign landing pages and conversion testing

Unbounce

Unbounce provides a no-code landing-page builder with templates, plus campaign components such as popups and sticky bars. It is oriented toward marketers creating and publishing focused campaign pages, then testing or optimizing their performance. Its Smart Traffic feature is a distinct visitor-routing product, not the page builder itself.

Page building and experimentation

The builder supports campaign landing pages made with templates and a drag-and-drop editor. Teams can create page variants and measure them against a conversion goal. A conventional A/B test compares how variants perform; Smart Traffic instead uses visitor attributes such as location or device to route each visitor toward a variant predicted to suit them.

Smart Traffic is listed in Unbounce's Optimize plan, rather than being a default capability of every builder plan. Check the live pricing page for current plan eligibility and limits before choosing a subscription; no price is quoted here because pricing can change.

Smart Traffic requirements and limitations

  • Unbounce's documentation says Smart Traffic is available for landing pages on custom domains, not popups or sticky bars.
  • Each page variant needs a conversion goal. Smart Traffic has an initial learning phase at 30 visitors, with an additional 30 visitors for each variant added later.
  • Changing a page's domain, republishing it, or editing it returns Smart Traffic to a learning phase; edits can also take time to flow through its routing algorithm.
  • Routing among variants is not the same as a controlled A/B test with a single overall winner. Choose the method that fits your traffic, measurement needs, and testing practice.

Who should consider Unbounce?

Unbounce may suit campaign marketers who need a dedicated landing-page workflow, custom-domain publishing, and a path from manual variant testing to AI-assisted routing. It may be less suitable if you need a general-purpose multi-page website platform, or if your required traffic-routing features are outside your subscription or do not fit your page setup. Compare Instapage for its page-generation and experimentation approach, and Leadpages for its combined page and website publishing workflow.
